Organizers for Glastonbury Festival failed to secure Adele as one of the headliners for its upcoming gig. Speaking to Metro, Michael Eavis revealed the "Rolling in the Deep" hitmaker was too afraid to take on the famous Pyramid Stage and face a large number of crowd.

"She knows that we want her anyway but she doesn't want to do a thing our size," the organizer dished on the reason why she turned down the headlining offer. "Going on the Pyramid Stage I think is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people. It's a bit much, really."

Although the "Someone Like You" crooner wouldn't perform, she's expected to hit the Worthy Farm in Somerset like she always did in the past years. "She comes every year usually, and has her own little party," he opened up before adding that the Glastonbury door would always open for her.

Glastonbury takes a year off due to the Olympic Games in London. The gig will return in 2013 with tickets going on sale starting October 4. Despite Adele's rejection, Eavis claimed main headliners were "already sorted." No names, however, have officially been announced
