Britney Spears and Demi Lovato made "The X Factor (US)"
audition in Kansas City more special than the other stops this season.
The two female judges turned the taping into a sort of celebration party
for fellow jury L.A. Reid.
The "Hold It Against Me" singer and the "Skyscraper" crooner surprised the Chairman and CEO of Epic Records, who turned 56 on June 7, with a birthday cake and song. "L.A. was completely not expecting it," a source on set told E! News.
"He was trying to keep his birthday kind of a secret but at the end of their break, Britney surprised L.A. with a huge chocolate cake while singing 'Happy Birthday'," the insider added. "It was cute. Demi drew him a picture saying 'LA & Demi - BFF - Besties'."
The said picture was posted on L.A.'s twitter and was re-tweeted by Demi. "From my new bestie @ddlovato, thank you for the love. #BFFL," he said in his posting.
Britney, Demi and L.A. sat on the judge panel in Kansas City without Simon Cowell because he was sick with bronchitis. He was replaced by Louis Walsh, who serves as one of the judges on the U.K. version of "The X Factor".
L.A. tweeted, "Since @SimonCowell didn't bother to show up, we plan on having more fun at the Kansas City auditions, right @britneyspears @ddlovato?" Demi, meanwhile, re-tweeted Britney's message, "I can't believe I'm actually saying this...but I miss @SimonCowell. Hope you feel better soon."
The two former Disney stars also ganged up on making fun of Louis. Britney jokingly posted, "Louis? That guy is on the real housewives or something....right?" Demi quickly replied, "Yeah, substitute teacher!!" The mother of two then wrote, "Just kidding! Love Louis. Met him at @TheXFactor in the UK! Welcome to the @TheXFactorUSA gang."
